Detergent & Shampoo Bottle Blow Molding Machines

KSY extrusion blow molding machines produce shampoo, hand wash, detergent and household cleaner bottles from 100 ml to 6 L in HDPE and PP, including handle bottles and view-stripe designs.

Containers

Daily chemical bottles made by extrusion blow molding

Extrusion blow molding is the standard process for household chemical bottles because it forms integral handles and non-round shapes in one step.

Typical containers

  • Shampoo and shower gel bottles, 200 ml to 1 L
  • Laundry detergent bottles with integral handle, 1 to 5 L
  • Dishwashing liquid bottles with push-pull caps
  • Toilet and surface cleaner bottles with angled necks
  • Fabric softener and bleach bottles

What matters in production

  • Handle forming: correct pinch-off design so the handle weld does not leak
  • Chemical resistance: HDPE grades with good stress-crack resistance for surfactants and bleach
  • Drop strength: even wall distribution at corners and base
  • View stripe: a transparent level stripe can be co-extruded
  • High output: multi-head tooling and automatic deflashing
Machine selection

Blow molding machines for detergent and shampoo bottles

Handle bottles need more platen width than round bottles of the same volume, so size the machine by mold dimensions as well as volume.

Resins used for daily chemical bottles

See processing notes in the blow molding materials guide.

Recycled content: a three-layer structure places post-consumer resin between two virgin layers, so the bottle surface and product contact layer stay clean.
Complete line

Auxiliary equipment for a daily chemical bottle line

Liquid-filled bottles should be leak tested before packing. Regular round and square bottles can be packed automatically.

Bottle leak testing machine

Pressure-decay testing catches pinholes and weak pinch-off welds before bottles are packed. Best suited to bottles that travel stably on a conveyor.

Leak testers →

Neck trimming machine

Removes neck flash and the dome left by blow-pin calibration on round bottles, leaving a flat, clean sealing surface.

Neck trimmers →

Empty bottle packing machine

Collates and bags regular round or square bottles automatically, cutting manual packing labor at the end of the line.

Conveyor belt

Carries bottles from the machine to downstream stations and returns flash to the crusher for recycling.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What machine makes laundry detergent bottles with handles?

Handle bottles are made on extrusion blow molding machines, because the handle is formed by pinching the parison inside the mold. KSY65 covers handle bottles up to 3 L and KSY75 covers 4 to 6 L.

Which plastic is best for detergent and shampoo bottles?

HDPE is the most common choice because it resists surfactants and bleach and has good drop strength. PP is used when a stiffer or clearer bottle is wanted.

Can recycled plastic be used in daily chemical bottles?

Yes. A multi-layer co-extrusion machine can place recycled HDPE in the middle layer with virgin resin on the inside and outside, which keeps appearance and product contact unaffected.

Need a detergent or shampoo bottle line?

Send KSY your bottle volume, handle design and hourly output. We will size the machine, die head and downstream equipment.
